- Open 2 Linux terminals
- Become root in one of those windows
- Ubuntu --> sudo su -
Other distro --> su -
- In the root-ed window run...
- while true; do killall -9 vmware-modconfig-console; sleep 1; done
- In the non-root terminal run...
- sudo ./VMware-Workstation-6.5.3-185404.x86_64.bundle --ignore-errors
- Once the installer finishes go back to the root window and do a Ctrl-C to stop the kill loop
- In the root window run...
- vmware-modconfig --console --install-all
