1863: MSN Messenger

Ubuntu 9.10 x64 + Firefox + Flash high CPU usage

How to reduce CPU usage (at least) when using Flash based applications in Firefox
 
Instructions:
 
  1. check your firefox version (mine =  firefox-3.6.5pre)
  2. sudo gedit /usr/lib/firefox-3.6.5pre/firefox.sh
  3. append the following to the end, save and re-run firefox
                      export XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1
  

Ubuntu 9.10 x64 + Firefox x64 + Flash Player i386

Having problem playing Flash base game in Ubuntu 9.10 x64 with firefox x64? Install flash player 32bit to fix this... I've found a script to do this (I've update it with working links)

Instructions:

Touch a file name flash10_en.sh with below entries and run with sh flash10_en.sh

Wine - Remove uninstalled wine program from "Programs" list


Instructions:

Remove /home/_YourUsername_/.local/share/applications/wine/Programs/_YourUninstalledWineProgramFolder_


Tips: You may also use System --> Preferences --> Main Menu  and see if it works for you
